Whānau & Belonging
The SEHC Senior School operates as a ‘school within a school’, where students belong to a ‘Whānau’ group. The four Whānau are Atawhai (purple), Kahurangi (white), Manutaki (orange) and Pounamu (green).
Leadership, Belonging & Identity
Whānau leaders work with their Pouhāpai to track, monitor, encourage and promote positive outcomes for ākonga. By nurturing students to work in a whānau-like environment, ākonga are provided with a strong sense of belonging and identity in all that they do. The four Whānau system also fosters a healthy competition to be the best Whānau for that school year!
