Update to NCEA changes 2022
Tēnā Koutou e te whānau,
In response to the ongoing disruption to learning due to Covid, NZQA and the Ministry of Education announced some changes to NCEA and University Entrance.

A brief summary
- Learning Recognition Credits (LRCs) will be automatically added to a student’s credit total at a rate of 1 per 5 Credits gained up to a maximum of 10 Credits at L1 and up to 8 Credits at L2 and L3
- Certificate Endorsement will drop from 50 to 46 Credits at all levels
- The L3 component of University Entrance will now be 2 X 14 Credits plus 1 X 12 Credits rather than the usual 3 X 14 Credits (this is still in addition to gaining a L3 Certificate and meeting the numeracy and literacy requirements). See here for more details on UE requirements.

Through their learning experiences, ākonga will be able to express their own values and aspirations, and explore with empathy, the values of others. They will critically analyse these values to be able to make ethical decisions about how and why their contribution to society is important, while maintaining their cultural connections to whānau, whenua and wairua.
